An early morning rain leads to interesting composition ideas 🙂

This scene invoking quiet introspection and isolation was taken maybe just 100 meters from our home in Valencia. While there are several benches in the spot, there are rarely more than one or two people seated here. On this particular late afternoon, this gentleman sits waiting, thinking, or maybe simply taking a few minutes to rest before moving on.

While his shirt says one thing, his face seems to say something very different. Perhaps his outward expression isn’t directed at Valencia? I didn’t look back to see the object of his ire, so we’ll just have to use our imagination. I do agree with the sentiment on the shirt, though. What a great place to be living 🙂

These two definitely have different approaches to visiting the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain. The young lady here is on her second or third “take” taking a video selfie in front of the massive architectural wonder behind her while her companion checks his phone.

When Fallas is in full swing here in Valencia, you can be sure there will be lots of opportunities to grab some interesting moments. This particular moment makes me smile every time I see it. There are two stories happening here (at least) with one being told by the young lady on the right and the one we can’t see in the frame that our expressive young lady on the left is seeing. Our out of “uniform” Fallera (judging by her hair) on the left’s expression here is priceless, and I look back on this and wish I had the wherewithal to have looked over to see what she was viewing.

One of my favorite street shots since I started taking them. Shot on Carrer de la Pau here in Valencia, I absolutely love the expression on the woman’s face here as she patiently (or no so patiently) waits for her companion to hand her something. Since they’re standing at a door, I’m assuming he’s looking for the key, but I didn’t stick around long enough to see the ending of the story. Shot from the hip here and processed in Adobe Camera Raw.

The shiny streets of Valencia come alive when the sun is low in the sky and it also creates some lovely long shadows if you happen to be in the right place. This couple take on an alien like appearance when viewing only their shadows on the blocks of the sidewalk. This was shot in September of 2022 near Plaça del Tossal.

Digging into some of my earliest street photos here with this shot from Salamanca, Spain. This was taken during our Viking cruise in Portugal, which also included a day in Salamanca. Visiting this city not only offered some inspiring views, but it also was the point where Carmen and I decided we wanted to look into moving to Spain. I only have a handful of street images from this trip, but you can see the rest of them by clicking here.

The Artist Market in downtown Marietta, Georgia apparently isn’t just for people. While the dog on the left seems ready to move on, the french bulldog on the right isn’t quite finished evaluating the impressionistic piece he’s viewing. I didn’t stick around long enough to discover if he eventually approved of the painting or not, but I hope the artist was pleased with the final judgement of the furry critic.
